Dr. Tara Zak is a local small animal and exotics veterinarian in the Hamilton Mill area. She holds a degree in Biology and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, both from the University of Georgia, earned in just seven years. She has 24 years of experience and has worked on all species of animals, from a dwarf hamster to a Clydesdale horse. She is an active member of her community and profession, volunteering for schools and working with rescue groups such as Angels Among Us. She holds a GA license to practice veterinary medicine, a DEA license, and is a USDA-accredited veterinarian. She is a member of the American, Georgia, and Gwinnett County veterinary associations and a certified member of the American Animal Hospital Association, and served on the board for Animal Emergency Care of Braselton. Over the years she has personally owned Westies, King Charles Cavaliers, Great Danes, Chihuahuas, Standard Poodles, Labrador Retrievers, and Terriers.

Dr. Melanie Johnson is a UGA graduate and a board-certified pathologist. She lives in Barrow County with her chickens, geese, cats, and dogs. When she has time to relax, she enjoys gardening and walking her two dogs, Bob and Dylan.

Kim is married and has 4 beautiful daughters and 6 wonderful grandchildren. She resides in Gwinnett County. She started working in the veterinary field as a receptionist when she was 18 years old. She shares her home with her beloved golden, Sage.

Melissa began working in the veterinary field during high school and is one of the assistants who helped open the clinic with Dr. Zak. She lives in Dacula with her husband Cecil and they have 2 dogs, Seger and Kinley. She is passionate about the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox!

Grace is a college student at the University of North Georgia, majoring in Biology. She hopes to attend vet school in the future. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her dogs, Hershel and Stan.

Norma has been a groomer for over 20 years. She came to the US from Colombia and has now made her home here in Georgia. She attended grooming school in Florida. Norma shares her home with her dog, Tinqui, and three rescue cats.

Hi, my name is Aether! I am a pet stylist of 3 years with experience grooming both dogs and cats. I love working with fluffy babies of all kinds, but I especially adore hyper pups with lots of playful energy. I specialize in personalized care for each pet, ensuring the best service for every dog and cat. I am currently learning how to work with pet-safe dye and would love the opportunity to refine my skills — if interested, please inquire at check-in!

Lisa brings over 35 years of experience in the veterinary field, making her a true cornerstone of our team. Her dedication and compassion for animals shine through in everything she does. When she is not at the clinic, Lisa enjoys baking sweet treats, riding her motorcycle, and getting creative with craft projects. At home, she shares her heart with her Jack Russell Terrier, Lacey, and her cat, Harley Quinn.
Kennel Attendant
Sabrina is a Biology student at the University of North Georgia on the pre-veterinary track. She hopes to attend veterinary school in the future and enjoys gaining experience through veterinary medicine and wildlife research. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and spoiling her five cats.
Clinic Pet
Zelda is a 4-year-old Bearded Dragon who came to us in February 2025. She enjoys spending time up front greeting all the patients. Her favorite thing to do is bask in the sun on her log and, of course, snack on worms.
