For any stay in the hospital dogs must be current on rabies, distemper, bordetella, and Lepto (3 week booster is required for the first time), and cats must be current on rabies and distemper. Additional testing is required for surgeries and anesthetic procedures.

We offer a wide variety of surgical procedures from one day dental procedures to intestinal obstructions, and everything in between. Your pet is in great hands with the staff of Hamilton Plaza animal hospital and Dr. Zak! We treat every pet as if they are ours and take every precaution while performing surgeries. This includes thorough and continuous monitoring during anesthesia.
Pain Management
We offer a range of pain management options tailored to your pet’s specific needs, including:
- Librela and Solensia injections for the treatment of osteoarthritis in dogs and cats
- Oral pain medications for ongoing or acute discomfort
These treatments are designed to help improve mobility, reduce inflammation, and enhance your pet’s overall quality of life.

Heartworm and Flea preventions
We offer a full range of heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives to fit your pet’s lifestyle and your preferences, including:
- Interceptor Plus – monthly protection against heartworms and intestinal parasites
- ProHeart Injection – long-lasting heartworm prevention with 6 or 12 month dosing options
- Credelio, Simparica, and Bravecto – fast-acting flea and tick control in convenient chewable forms
We’re also excited to offer Bravecto Quantum, the first-ever year-long flea and tick prevention—a breakthrough option for extended protection with a single injection.

Grooming
HPAH has an experienced groomer which will not only make your pet pretty, but also treat them with spa quality sweetness! We will bathe your dog or cat (YES…we bathe cats) in a doctor-recommended moisturizing or medicated shampoo and apply a conditioner if needed. Then dry them by hand or with a cage dryer on low setting with low heat to ensure there is no chance of overheating! We will cut, clip, shave, and brush your fido back to show quality. Then perfume or cologne with a final touch, your choice, of bows or bandanas. Always included with the grooming is a nail trim and ear cleaning. We also have many other add-on options such as: express anal glands, teeth brushing, and many more!
Dental
While at-home brushing helps, it cannot reach the bacteria under the gum line. Professional dental cleanings are performed under anesthesia to safely and thoroughly remove deep tartar, allowing for a complete examination of each tooth without causing pain or stress to the pet. Regular, often annual, professional cleanings, starting around one year of age, are recommended for maintaining long-term health.
Benefits of dental cleaning include elimination of bad breath, early detection of systemic disease like periodontal disease, a better quality of life and pain prevention. Don’t wait until your pet is in pain to learn about dental health! February and October are our dental awareness months!
Boarding
HPAH offers many options for your little camper here at Hamilton Plaza. We have 6 runs with special night lights, air purifier, constant air circulation and a drainage system installed to further help with odor! Each one is equipped with bedding and stainless steel pails and bowls for durability! The dogs are walked 2-3 times daily and placed in an outdoor fenced play area and are supervised. If your dog is smaller or they prefer an area away from larger dogs we have a separate space for them in spacious cages! If your kitty needs to be boarded we have a separate area for them as well! This space is towards the front and consists of condos with built in windows, lounging benches and doors to jump between units!
To keep your pets safe, we also have cameras on the premises.
If your pet is boarding with us, we require that they be up to date on their vaccines and vaccinated for influenza.
The following vaccines are required:
